The Feature Tracking capability is used to lock the probe onto a feature, such as a molecule on the surface. This capability is sometimes refered to as Orbital Tracking. As the feature moves or diffuses around the surface, the probe will stay locked onto it and move with the feature. The position of the probe versus time is stored in the underlying image's data file. The position of the probe can later be displayed as either a static plot of where the probe moved around the surface, or a dynamic display of the probe position versus time.
